September 9th, 2013

Presented by FAMOUS magazine, who recently voted fancied the number 1 dating app in Australia – A gorgeous mix of socials, locals, media and singles celebrated with the founder and CEO of fancied, Christie Sharpe and her fiancé David Whitehill (Mornings, Channel Nine).

Guests were chauffer driven to the event by UBER and included media personalities Casey Burgess, Nikki Goldstein, Carmelo Pizzino, Ant Simpson and Home & Away star Nic Westaway. Included in the invitee list was a number of strapping young AFL footballers who, not surprisingly, found themselves fancied by a number of single ladies.

Upon arrival, the guests were welcomed with a MARTINI cocktail and a selection of Hugos’ award winning pizza. Ladies stayed beautiful with hair and make-up touch ups thanks to Jet Set Go and phones were kept charged thanks to portable charger, DiscGo.
After working on the project for over nine months, Sharpe was thrilled with the launch and stated, “It was great to see people ‘checking in’, getting fancied and more importantly getting matched! We’re really excited for the next few months – in the three weeks since launch there has already been thousands of ‘fancies’ going on and I’m hearing a few have already gone on dates. Right now we’re really listening to what our customers want so we can continue to improve our service and people can continue to meet and date!”

Singles that had downloaded the app were already meeting and matching with other users and adding to the overall success of the night. To all that attended, the night had undoubtedly a good vibe, fun and friendly atmosphere – the perfect mix for everything that fancied stands for!

fancied, the dating app that allows you to discover and meet people who fancy you nearby, launched at popular hot spot Hugos Lounge on the weekend. The ambient space was the perfect setting for urban singles to meet and ‘get fancied’.

An Event To Please Even The Most Critical Party-Goers

August 30th, 2012

Double Bay has gone through many transitions over the years, from a thriving retail area, to a ghost town, then back to thriving, then back to being a ghost town. But it’s back to being a thriving evening hot-spot for those who prefer to relax and let their hair down, without the Eastern Suburbs rif-raf that other local venues attract.

It’s the very attractive bar and restaurant called Mrs Sippy, which celebrated their first birthday, and boy do they know how to put on a party!

To celebrate its first year in the limelight, Mrs Sippy opened their doors to a selective guest-list of names last night throwing a house party that left many with a sore head Thursday morning!

The evening was celebrated by co-owners Benjamin May, siblings Andrew and Kate Stanway, and Angus Abrahams as a ‘thank-you’ to all their friends, locals, and regulars who have supported the venue throughout the year. ”We’ve had the pleasure of hosting functions for some iconic brands, but never had the time to throw our own; we thought we’d celebrate one successful year by putting on a party everyone would remember!”

A glamorously sexy crowd joined in on the festivities which included newlyweds Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson, the Stenmark twins Jordan and Zach, sweetheart Pip Edwards and Adam Ashley-Cooper, Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello, Gretal Packer, Daimon Downey, Maude Garrett, Zoe Balbi, Josh Flinn, David Whitehill, Tom Steinfort, Alison Piotrowski and teen heart throb Johnny Ruffo (he was so much shorter in real life!).

We were all welcomed so pleasantly by the friendly French giant at the door with a glass of Veuve (in my case a bottle) and their signature drink, the Mrs Sippy Martini. The Chandon was flowing and the tunes were pumping to the wee hours thanks to resident DJ Miss Annie.

The food was a knock-out, with a variety of canapés such as roasted pumpkin tart with goats cheese, oysters, wagyu beef sliders, lemon pepper prawn, and a selection of gourmet wood fired pizzas went down a treat, later on enjoying Gelatisimo ice-cream.

The entire venue was jumping, with upstairs being transformed into the Vodka Lounge with Belvedere and SKYY mixes to go. The crew unveiled “Star Trucker” a mobile food and drinks caravan.

When was the last time you saw a caravan parked in Double Bay?

Truly an awesome event and I can’t wait for their 2nd birthday!!!
