Don’t Hassle the Hoff!

What the hell am I on about?

Well… I hate to break it to you, but DAVID HASSELHOFF has announced his AUSTRALIAN TOUR! Yep. You read that correctly.

Today, tickets will go on sale for the much loved (and much love to hate) David Hasselhoff today for the tour in February 2013! It’s still so far away, but I guarantee it will be a sell-out, it’s going to go hoff!

The Baltimore born 60 year old is so much more than a mere television personality; he is worldwide phenomenon ‘The Hoff’.

Not many stars have embraced their nickname as wholeheartedly, he is absolutely a one-hoff.

The Hoff has enjoyed a range of successful careers as a pop artist (two No 1 singles), a star of musicals (Chicago, The Producers) and, of course, as part of some of the most popular television shows ever made.

He has popped up on telly more recently; as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and on the American version of Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing with the Stars, in Australia on Celebrity Apprentice but it is for Knight Rider (one of my fav shows… seriously!!) and Baywatch that he remains best known.

Fresh hoff the back of headlining the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Hoff is bringing his live show to Australia, described as an intimate, hilarious evening of song, dance and audience interaction. Knight Rider to Baywatch, Broadway and the Berlin Wall. Hoff-crazy? You bet it is! Come party, Hoffstyle! He will give you everything he has to hoffer.

Woolmark Treasure Hunt at Westfield Sydney Campaign Launch

July 8th, 2011

On Thursday afternoon, I was thrilled to be one of a select group of Sydney’s fashion bloggers, gathering at Westfield Sydney to celebrate the launch of the Find Fashion By Feelings Campaign. Myself and other fellow bloggers scoured across the shopping centre following clues Tweeted out from www.twitter.com/welovewool #woolmarktreasurehunt and gathered treasures along the way.

I get invited to many events… but boy this one was the best by far!  Running around Westfield Sydney with my partner in crime Sydney Fashion Blogger, Antoinette Marie, following clues posted on Twitter, to find hidden balls of wool in the centre was incredible, fast paced and fabulously exhausting fun! But well worth every second of it.

It’s creative events like this that make campaigns successful.  They fused the raw fibre and social media together seamlessly!

In this instance, treasures didn’t take on the form of pots of gold or buried diamonds, instead we all pieced together clues to find little knitted balls, some embellished with beads and cute little pom poms!

The Woolmark Blogger Treasure Hunt marked the launch of the Find Fashion By Feelings campaign which has been created to engage fashion lovers from around the world on an emotional level, the ‘Find Fashion By Feelings’ Campaign asks the fashion savvy to post, tag and promote their style and share their love of wool.

From the UK, USA, Europe, Australia & New Zealand, ‘Find Fashion By Feelings’ is an interactive campaign which asks fashionistas to show how their look makes them feel.

What a fantastic day I had – and I have to say now as I type this, I’m completely buggered! Who would have thought running up and down the marble floors of Westfield Sydney could be so tiring?! I’d hate to think what it was like for Sydney Fashion Blogger who was in high-heels!!

Check out the campaign on www.fashionbyfeelings.com and read all about the competition in the post below.

The Fragrances Which Are Taking The US By Storm! Eau de Nous.

March 29th, 2011

I love when I have been given great opportunities tell all of my readers about great products that are accessible to us here in Australia, which are doing big things overseas – particularly in the US.

Taking the US by storm and available online Internationally for the world to smell is Eau De Nous, the brainchild of 2 gorgeous and talented sisters Daya and Vally Fernandez which founded the label in 2010.

Eau de Nous was created from a simple, undaunted concept—bringing loved ones together through simple yet sophisticated fragrances. As the brainchild behind two relentlessly determined sisters, Eau de Nous stems from the notion that affordability does not compromise quality – as well as choice with 2 sizes, 10ml and 100ml sizes.

This quality should not be altered but rather transcend generational gaps and social status. Motivated to create a product which appeals to all and yet retains its creativity, these two sisters set out to make a series of fragrances which reminded them of their childhood.

From this innocuous concept, Eau de Nous was born to bring together the subtle yet sublime scents of nature (citrus, gardenias, lilies, roses, jasmine, etc…) in a versatile line of cologne for everyday occasions — to accompany any given mood at any given time.

Unrestrained by convention, Daya and Vally are determined to stay true to the philosophy behind their creation — “inspired by nature, designed by passion.”

There is a massive list of celebrities who own Eau de Nous and are avid supporters of the Los Angeles based beauties. Even US Harper’s Bazaar recently named Eau De Nous as the MUST HAVE BEAUTY ITEM this season – so it’s making an impact in it’s infancy in the fashion world and the celebrity circles. Just some of these fabulous names include: Demi Moore – who has all of them, Odette Yustman, Jennifer Morrison – she also has all of them, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Racheal Leigh Cook, Jaime Presley, Natasha Alam, Ali Later, Hayden Panettiere, Mila Kunis and Britany Snow.

Visit www.eaudenous.com for more information and to purchase the scents online. They also have a Facebook page: Eau De Nous and also Twitter: @EaudeNous

Where Would I Rather Be? The Cullen Hotel – Prahran – Melbourne

November 12th, 2010

Where would I rather be?

The Cullen Hotel in Melbourne of course.

Oh hang on… I am at The Cullen Hotel in Prahran, Melbourne right now enjoying the complete fabulousness of this place!

I once would only stay at a 5 star hotel right in the heart of Melbourne every time I’d visit, till I finally thought I’d try something a little different outside of the city, in the heart of the trendy, slightly bohemian yet up-market Prahran.

I’d drive past The Cullen as it was being built only a couple of years ago, wondering what the monstrosity across the road from the Prahran markets would be. What was being built was an artistic, luxurious, warm, welcoming and eccentrically designed hotel which was featured in the 2010 Condé Nast Traveller US Hot List.

The entire hotel is inspired by the artwork of Adam Cullen. Bright, colourful and peculiar is what you could describe the artwork and the imagination of this talented man. Adam Cullen combines irreverent humour with an astute sensitivity to society.

From the moment I walk through the glass doors, past the two life sized Adam Cullen mosaic cows in the foyer, I realise I am somewhere a little different. A little quirky. A little fearless. Perfectly me.

There is an immediate presence of homely calm. The casual, but very professional staff are just so welcoming. They are young, vibrant, experienced and will do anything to make your stay pleasurable. Each time I have been, I couldn’t have asked for a bunch of nicer people to look after me – it’s really helped make a home away from home for me, especially as I travel so much.

Check-in is easy and quick which is important to me as I normally arrive and just want to get in, drop my bags, have a shower and relax.

The foyer, the void from the top and all the corridors on each floor are covered in fabulous wallpapers and the original artworks of Adam Cullen. The artworks continue on through to the luxury guest suites.

When you open the door to your room, you automatically smile. It’s a bright, happy and pleasant space. It’s clever, sophisticated and designed in the most amazing way to take advantage of space and light and make you feel completely fabulous.

The bathroom is a standout feature for me. Obscured decals with Adam Cullen’s famous Ned Kelly  cover the giant glass walls to the bathroom, creating a sense of discreet and legalised voyeurism with just vague silhouettes showing through. The stunning glossy black mirrored floor tiles, use of mirrors and the large open shower (or bath/spa depending on the room you get) make your time spent in the bathroom pleasurable. Excellent Art Series products are plentiful for your skin, hair, etc.

Luxurious spotless, black carpet lines the floor, crisp white walls and plenty of colourful Adam Cullen paintings line the walls, along with a wall mounted LCD with Foxtel and floor to ceiling mirrors. A fully served kitchenette and dining table complete with Kartell chairs, side tables and lamps. A small library in each room provides hours of colourful reading with books on the art of Adam Cullen, architecture and design.

An iPod docking station is also in every room which is great for me, as I need music everywhere I go, and also have an iPhone and can charge and listen to my favourite songs up loud!

The hotel has everything you need – valet parking, hair salon, gymnasium, Nintendo Wii hire, internet and downstairs there is the famous HuTong Dumpling Bar which is a hot spot for Melbourne locals to dine. If you haven’t already hired a car, hire one of The Cullen’s Smart Cars! Or if you feeling like keeping fit and getting some fresh air, hire a Swedish Kronan bicycle.

The beds are super sumptuous and provide an amazing sleep, while being cocooned in the luxurious Art Series Signature linen.

I love everything about this hotel. The service is impeccable. The class in second to none. The design is divine. The price is right and the location is perfect. If there was somewhere you were going to stay in Melbourne, this would have to be it.

This is where I’d rather be… And I am.
